The Osona Animal Protection association manages the shelter in the municipality of Gurb, near Vic and is known locally as the “Protectora de Osona”.

Here we give shelter to dogs and cats from all the municipalities in the county, animals who have had the misfortune of being left without a home, either because they have become older and need more attention, because they got lost and the owners have not been able to find them or simply because they are no longer wanted and have been abandoned.

Whatever the reason, all these animals are waiting for a new family to love them

 

Our aims

To spread the importance of adopting abandoned animals. Each animal adopted from a shelter makes room for another unfortunate.

 

To explain the importance of having our pets properly identified with microchip and registered.

Lost Cocker Spaniel, with microchip, returned to his owners the same day.

 

Mami, found injured on the motorway,

Gave birth 4 weeks after arriving at the shelter

  

 

Emphasise to our society the need for civic behaviour by pet owners.

 

An animal must never be kept like this.

We must make owners aware that the basic needs of a pet include space to move around.

Never tied or caged.

We work towards ending ill-treatment of domestic animals.

To beat them, keeping them tied or caged for hours or leaving them to die of hunger and thirst are illegal acts.

Who we are

There are a few that are old and probably will never be adopted, to these we will give as good a life as we can. But there are 8ñshow you in these pages.

If you have room in your home and in your hearts for an animal that deserves all the love you can give him, come to see them, or if you are too far, get in touch with us. In these pages we can only show you a few, there are many more.
